Oklahoma City Zoo

Mike, Cortland and I hit the Oklahoma City Zoo on 3-14-09. If you've never been there you really should make the trip. We had a PERFECT day! It wasn't hot and a partially overcast sky kept the crowds away. My only complaint was we didn't have enough time to see everything. We arrived shortly before noon and had to leave when the zoo closed at 5 (summer hours, which is until 8:45, had not started yet). They had a really cool aquatic exhibit, a native exhibit called Oklahoma Trails, and Cortland's favorite - the Dinosaurs. They had some life-size robotic dinosaurs on display, which just started the day we went. My camera died about an hour in, so I didn't get to take near enough pictures. I can only post 5 on this blog so I chose some of the better ones. There is also a video from the seal show we got to see!

Snow Day!

We woke up Saturday (3-28-09) to no electricity and one heck of a snow storm. It let up a bit early afternoon and actually started melting. We bundled up, threw the sled in Mike's truck, and headed to Harrison Park for some sledding action.

Cortland's New Go-Cart

Cortland got the book "The Dangerous Book for Boys" from Santa for Christmas. If you have a son, I highly recommend this. It's good reading material and has lots of projects in it that every little boy should do at some point in their childhood. Mike and Cortland decided to make a simple go-cart. Cortland got to help use the power tools to build it, and then we took it to Harrison Park to ride it down the hill. It turned out great and the boys had a good time building it.
